Charlie's First Blackhawks game

We had a great time taking Charlie to his first hockey game. Bob was so excited to see how he would like it. Luckily, it was an awesome game. Charlie's favorite part was pregame. All the music and lights were making him jump up and down and cheer along. The Blackhawks won 5-4 in overtime, so we picked a great game to start him with.

Charlie's BIrthday Pics

Charlie loves his Grandmas!

Hanging with the Grandpas

We visited Bob at work on Charlie's birthday. Bob took the afternoon off to spend it with Charlie. Unfortunately, a high fever came on and we canceled our plans.

Helping Dad crunch some numbers

He already has the "Seriously, Mom?" look down. I appreciated him humoring me with his birthday hat.
Charlie's picture was on the morning news!

One of his birthday shirts...I know we are terrible!

Love how he is looking at me. He loved his cake!

Trying to get a pic in the hat at his party.

This stuff is good, but I can't quite figure it out.

April Showered us with Fun!

Wowza! This has been a crazy couple of weeks. April started off with Charlie's birthday and Charlie being sick. Luckily, he made a full recovery and we were able to have his party and celebrate our little boy with many of our friends and family. I was lucky to have one of my sisters and her family and my parents all come up from Atlanta to celebrate with us. This was Traci's first visit to Chicago so it was fun to show them where we live and how different it is from how we grew up and from New York. My nieces, Madison and Mackenzie, were on Spring Break so they stayed for almost a week and we had a lot of fun. During their visit we got news from Atlanta that my brother and sister-in-law had their baby boy Easton on April 6th! He was a month early but already 6lbs 7oz and is doing great.
Bob and I were lucky enough to take off for a getaway. We took 5 days and headed off to Barcelona, Spain. Neither of us have traveled internationally before so it was very exciting. We had a blast! The weather was perfect and the city was amazing. We did not commit like we should have to learning Spanish, but we got through the trip with no mishaps and found ways to get around on our own or people that we could communicate with. The history that surrounds this city is unbelievable. The buildings are amazing. I absolutely loved being there and learning a different place. Plus, the idea of siestas, late dinners, tapas and sangria were all right up my alley. My favorite part of the trip was having 5 days of being with Bob and not having to think about work, responsibilities and just enjoying each other as a couple. It helps when you know that your child is well taken care of!
Once we got back from Spain we needed a little bit of time to recoup but have stayed very busy, nonetheless. We have been to the Chicago Blackhawks playoffs, took Charlie to his first game, ran a 5k and went to Bob's high school reunion.
Charlie is doing well. He is SO close to walking. He is nervous about letting go of our hands and doing it on his own but he gets a little braver everyday. I am sure by summer we will be off and running. He has still never crawled, but I think I am getting over this as he gets closer and closer to walking. Bob is great. He is working harder and harder and is very motivated to reach his goals for himself and his team.
As far as my goals go, I reached my goal of 140lbs right before we left for Spain. I am pretty certain I am no longer there after birthday celebrations, vacation and time getting back in the swing of things and not working out. I have been scared to get on the scale, so I have no idea how much I put back on. It felt great to do the 5k Saturday morning so I am back to being motivated so I will get back to it soon. Charlie and I are going to take some music classes starting in May so this is a big thing to check off on my list of goals for me and Charlie and meeting moms and other kids. We have hit the playground on a few occasions and I have enjoyed watching him watch the kids and have had some nice conversations with moms.
We are so excited about the summer and all the weddings, trips and good weather we have before us! We head to Atlanta in 2 weeks to meet my nephew! I'd love things to settle down but I am not sure when that may happen.
Hope everyone is well!
